Summary
Hi, my name is Grace Rouleau (pronounced Ru-low). I am a passionate user experience designer and an occasional nerd. I am deeply fascinated with people’s digital and everyday life experiences. I became a UX designer because I wanted to understand people’s motivations and create meaningful and positive experiences for others when interacting with the products I design or with me.
Career
I worked for a marketing agency for two years, where I was involved in website design & development, marketing, branding, and various design tasks. Before that, I worked with small businesses on various contract jobs, managing their digital presence, improving customer experience, and creating media.
Education
UX and Interface Design Certificate | University of Washington
This program taught me to apply UX principles and visual design techniques to create intuitive, user-centered digital experiences. The program also strengthened your skills in usability testing, wireframing, and prototyping to enhance interface design.
Digital Technology and Culture | Washington State University
During my time earning my degree in Digital Technology and Culture at WSU, I primarily focused on website development while also learning visual design, digital storytelling, and game design. In addition to my degree, I also obtained minors in Fine Arts and Business Administration and a certificate in Game Design.
Personal Life
I currently live in the Greater Seattle Area, WA. I love drinking tea while working in coffee shops or spending time with my family. I consider myself an okay cook and a great baker, and I’d be thrilled to share my baked goods with more people. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing video games. Lately, I’ve been into knitting and find joy in making things—whether it’s a new sweater, a blanket, or even a mistake to learn from.
